Stolin is a 16-year-old boy placed in the Nariamar monastery by parents unable to care for him. Stolin painfully endures these constraints… So, when he discovers Ernao Piranesi’s secular book, he cannot resist stealing it to read it quietly in his cell. At the time when Baron Ytrium, victorious in a bloody battle against heretics, decides to imprison the survivors in the dungeons of the monastery where Ernao is steward.
